Coming to the White Isle

Beaches

Ibiza is blessed with lots of beautiful beaches all around the island, so if you hire a car it's easy to get about and explore many of them. There are three in walking distance from the apartment, with the main beach in Santa Eulalia being the pick of them for fine sand and clear crystal waters.

The beaches to the west are perfect for sunsets, and those to the east are perfect for sunrises and moonrises.

Planning your holiday

The season is May-October when the weather is at its best and the whole island is operational. Ibiza gets hot in the peak summer months (July and August), typically between 28-34 degrees. June and September usually between 26-32 degrees. May and October are cooler and range between 21-26 degrees. April and November can still be very pleasant in the low 20's but usually high teens. The winter months December-March are normally quite mild between 11-17 degrees, although it's not uncommon for the odd day in the high teens!

Getting to Siesta

It's about a 20-30 min car journey from the airport depending on traffic. The whole of the island is easy to navigate as there aren't many main roads!

If you haven't hired a car, then jumping in a cab is the easiest way, there are lots outside the airport and queues move quickly. It costs about 35 euros.

There are buses running during the day until about 11pm - take the L24 which run every hour and get off at Santa Eulalia bus station. It's a 10 min walk to the apartment. It costs about 5 or 6 euros but only runs during summer months (May-Oct).

Formentera

The White Island's little sister, Formentera, is like a tropical paradise just a short boat trip away. White sand and azure waters await you on this sleepy island, and the best mode of transport is a bike, quad or a moped around the few dusty roads which split the island from north to south and east to west.

There is a small port and marina, three iconic lighthouses in the far corners of the island, and miles of beautiful beaches, with a few chiringuitos, beach clubs and restaurants dotted around - this really is a wonderful place to explore on a day trip.
